There are many things that Phillip Barnett loves but one of the main things happens to be North Carolina basketball. When you're a North Carolina fan, you expect a certain level of competitiveness, determination, and success. When you don't get those things, it can often leave a terrible taste in your mouth? When UNC failed to hoist the title after this year's tournament despite being the #1 team in the nation, it left Phillip with feeling a certain way. Bitter

With Selection Sunday one month away, the NCAA tournament and its seeding is beginning to shape up. With the college basketball season in full swing, weekends like this one for the SEC can be huge in how the conference's average teams establish themselves throughout the nation. Kentucky is taking on #2 North Carolina. South Carolina will try for the upset at #18 Clemson. And both Mississippi State and Ole Miss University will get to test themselves against solid out of conference opponents in Murray State and University of New Mexico, respectively. How will the weekend shake out?

The ACC is the power conference in the college basketball world. One of the teams if not more will most likely end up in the Final Four this season. Colleges like NC State, Clemson, and Duke are ready to challenge for the top spot in the conference, while teams like Virginia, Boston College and Virginia Tech are on the verge of falling to the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Midnight Madness has come and gone as the college season has officially begun. About 80 to 90 teams have a legit shot at having a good enough season to make the tournament, but none of that matters until Selection Sunday. For the next 4 months, all that matters are the Top 25 teams in the country and their attempts to move up the ranks by knocking off higher ranked colleges. This year, the teams are being fueled by one of the most talented freshman classes of the past 10 years. Top recruits like Kevin Love (UCLA), Derrick Rose (Memphis), Eric Gordon (Indiana), Michael Beasley (Kansas State), and O.J. Mayo (USC and California Penal League) have made fans all over the country believe that this is their year.
