Are these the only two guys worthy of MVP consideration?

MVP voting is flawed by nature because instead of being impartial, voters often find their own biases taking over their thought processes. Instead of allowing this to happen to us, our newest writer has designed and implimented a system for determining who deserves the Most Valuable Player award above his closest competitors. 15 categories are considered to find a true winner.
Celia Kelly breaks down the race and gives us the most logical choice for MVP.

As Mateen Cleaves realized his dream of winning a NCAA title and being the final shot of the One Shining Moment montage during the post-game celebration, the Michigan State Spartan was on top of the world with endless possibilities in front of him. Since then, his career has been nothing short of a disappointing nightmare. However, he remains confident in his journey through basketball that will hopefully one day bring him back to an NBA roster.
Phillip Barnett gives us a look into the psyche of the former college star and what the future may hold for him in this interview.
The Peja Theory

One thing that can make you crazier than Mercury Morris is having one of your favorite young players not improve as quickly has you expect him to. In fact, what’s even worse than that is when a player has hit his complete potential at a young age and you realize that he will never get any better than what he brings to the table now. It’s hard to come to grips with this because you want to believe that throughout someone’s career, they will always find a way to improve on their game and get better. You want to believe that they will bring something new to the court every year after furiously working during the off-season, and are ready to unleash that new skill on the rest of the league. Unfortunately, it doesn’t always happen and often a few too many seasons go by until fans and management realize that this player should have been moved long ago. This is what I call, “The Peja Theory.”
Zach Harper explains his theory and who exemplifies it in today's NBA.

The 2007-2008 NBA season is about one month old so far and has had plenty of interesting things occur. Boston is back. LeBron is channeling his inner Big O. San Antonio and Phoenix are the best teams in basketball once again. Yi is unbeatable at home. Dwight Howard may not be the next Shaq but isn’t far from it at this point in his career. The Bulls are unbearable and Jamario Moon is the talk of Canada.
Zach Harper recaps the first month of the NBA season.

Top 10 Most Useless Players in the NBA

Which has a place in the NBA: Bea or the Vertebeard? Photos Courtesy of nndb.com and nbrpa.com
There comes a time while watching an NBA basketball game when you wonder how easy it must be to make the NBA based on just being taller than the average person. You see certain players play and think that your favorite team would be better off simply not employing that player and maybe even replacing them with Bea Arthur or Kevin Ollie’s mustache. These players simply boggle the mind. These are the players that are utterly useless. These are the players that keep getting chance after chance to perform and prove their belonging in the league, only to fail miserably and yet maintain their 7 figure + salaries.
Zach Harper has the Top 10 Useless Players in the NBA.
MIAMI ADVICE: EXPLORE SHAQ’S VALUE

Would the Heat consider dealing the Big Fella? Photo Courtesy of msnbc.com
A year ago at this time we had just witnessed an elite, veteran nine-man rotation hit its stride in the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat champions were a cast of former All-NBA veterans surrounding a spectacularly blooming young talent. This Hall-of-Fame grouping came back from two games to nothing to beat the Dallas Mavericks in four straight battles to win the NBA Championship.
This year the Miami Heat finished 44-38 earning the right to get swept out of the playoffs in the first round. Miami’s roster looked shallow, outmatched and arguably outhustled for many of their 86 games. What have we learned? Cory Elfrink breaks it down.
Top 51 Players Under 25
Where does Rudy Gay rank on this list? Photo Courtesy of NBA.com
The NBA is going through what can only be described as rejuvenation. It almost seems that since 2003 the entire League is in somewhat of a rebuilding mode. Last season, we saw a 22 year-old star single-handedly lead his team to the finals. The year before that, Dwyane Wade guided the Heat to a championship in just his third season. In fact, there was not one 30 year-old among the top six in scoring last year (Ray Allen, 32 this month, was 7th).
In a two-part article, Cory Elfrink explores who are the best players under the age of 25. Players 51 to 26 - Players 25 to 1
Hey Sports Guy! Oden Vs. Durant Isn't So Clear Cut
Bill Simmons signs off on Durant too quickly

Talkhoops.net creator, Zach Harper has been a Sports Guy fan since the first time he read his work. He knew that it was another Peter Gammons for him. He knew it was more than just sports. It was entertainment and inspiration.
But Bill Simmons has finally flown off the biased handle by annointing Kevin Durant as the new Sliced Bread. Greg Oden is just as worthy of a first pick as anyone since Tim Duncan. He is something we haven't really seen before. Kevin Durant on the other hand, well we've already seen that show and it resides in Houston.
Bill Simmons' unofficial protege offers a rebuttal.
