First Round
64. Mount Saint Marys
After getting a win against Coppin State, Mount Saint Mary's has to play North Carolina. Hansborough and Lawson will run over them
63. UT Arlington
Memphis is just too good and too deep for these guys.
62. Mississippi Valley State
Kevin Love and company are hoping for a third straight Final Four. They will not be stopped, by this team anyway.
61. Portland State
Kansas is coming off a Big twelve championship. They will ride that boat to the second round.
60. American
Tennessee is just too good on the exterior play. Chris Lofton will go big.
59. Austin Peay
Texas is way oo good at getting inside with big man Connor Atchley. Austin Peay won't be able to handle him.
58. Belmont
Although Duke finished weak at the end of the season, they won't be stopped in the first round.
57. UMBC
Roy Hibbert is an NCAA tournament kind of guy. He will shine, as will the Hoyas.
56. Boise State
Louisvill finished the season playing as a Final Four caliber team. They will win this game.
55. Cornell
This is the first time an Ivy league school besides Penn or Princeton has been dancing. Neither of them have won. Why should it be different this year? Not to mention, Stanford has these two big men who are going to own Cornell.
54. Georgia
Although the Bulldogs went far enough to secure Dennis Felton's job, their Cinderella story will likely come to an end.
53. Cal State Fullerton
Wisconsin is too good on the interior for these guys to handle.
52. Washington State
Washington State did not finish the season the way they wanted to. Although it may be a stretch, I am going to pick Winthrop in this one.
51. Oral Roberts
Pittsburgh is one of two teams to win their last four games. They are going to keep on rolling.
50. San Diego
Connecticut is an awesome team if they play like a team. San Diego won't be able to go up and down the floor at Connecticut's pace.
49. Siena
Shan Foster will go off in this game. Vanderbilt will win.
48. George Mason
Remember that team that went to the Final Four a few years ago? It won't happen this time around.
47. Michigan State
Temple has been on a roll as of late. If they get up early against Drew Neitzel and the Spartans, it I over.
46. Western Kentucky
Drake is the best five seed in the field. They are going to get a school recod twenty ninth win.
45. Villanova
Clemson was on a roll before losing to North Carolina on Sunday. Villanova was the last major conference team in. They are going to be gone early for the second straight year.
44. Oklahoma
Saint Joseph's is one of the hottest teams in the country heading into the tournament. They keep on rolling in this one.
43. Marquette
This is going to be a guards game. Domininc James and Jerel McNeil vs Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford. Kentucky has the experience. I see them winning their sixteenth straight first round game.
42. Baylor
This would have been a great mid season game. However, both teams have fallen apart since great starts. Purdue moves on.
41. USC
Micheal Beasley vs O.J Mayo. What a game this will be. Michael Beasley and Kansas State move on.
40. South Alabama
This team was one of the last at large bids handed out. After a great regular season, this one will be a heart breaker. Butler takes it, in a close one.
39. St. Marys
Miami is the worst #7 seed in the field. They will still be able to handle this St. Marys team.
38. Arizona
West Virginia has been playing well as of late and is probably better than seeded. They will move on.
37. Gonzaga
Although Gonzaga does probably deserve higher than a #7, Stephen Curry is just too good. Davidson in a classic.
36. Arkansas
If Arkansas had won the SEC tourney, they would not even be in this game. Yet they are, and Eric Gordon is too good.
35. Oregon
Oregon will not be able to handle Charles Rhodes and Jamont Gordon. They are just too good.
34. BYU
Texas A&M slipped up the last few weekas of the season, but are still in the field. BYU could have help themselves if they had won their conference. But they didn't, and now they must lose to Texas A&M.
33. UNLV
Kent State is, in my mind, the third best mid major in the field behind only Drake and Butler. UNLV won't be able to handle them.
Second Round
32. Indiana
Although this could be an upset, it probably won't be. Eric Gordon just can't handle Ty Lawson. However, If D.J. White stops Wayne Ellington, Indiana advances. For know I'm taking the Tar Heels
31. Mississippi State
Memphis is the most underrated #1 seed in the tourney. That doesn't mean they can't beat Mississippi State.
30. Texas A&M
Just weeks after losing in the sweet sixteen, the Aggies lost two more things. Their best player and their head coach. They are about to lose again.
29. Kent State
Kansas is just too good inside and out for this team too handle.
28. Butler
A.J. Graves vs Chris Lofton will be the deciding factor. Whoever gets going early will likely win this game. I am picking the Volunteers.
27. West Virginia
If Duke is getting back to the Final Four, they re going to have to handle a West Virginia team who has a rising star in Joe Alexander. If Duke shuts him down, they win.
26. Miami
Texas is awesome when D.J. Augustin gets gong. Miami's guards won't be able to handle him. Even if they can, Texas still has A.J. Abrams, Damion James, and Connor Atchley. Texas in a blowout.
25. Georgetown
Stephen Curry vs is going to have to be big in this game if they are going to upset Georgetown. But, he will come through.
24. Saint Joseph's
Louisville is going to be good on the inside in this one. I like the game matchup to be Pat Calathes vs David Padgett, which I think Padgett will win.
23. Kentucky
The Lopez twins are going to be too much to handle for Kentucky's Perry Stevenson and Mark Coury. Ramel Bradley and Joe Crawford are good, but not good enough to take this game.
22. Xavier
Purdue will prove themselves to be too much too handle against a Xavier team who does not have a guy that can take over or bring them back if they get down too much.
21. Wisconsin
Michael Beasley is too good for Wisconsin's Brian Butch too handle. K- State advances.
20. Notre Dame
Winthrop could be this year's Cinderella team if they can beat the fighting Irish. I surely expect them to.
19. Temple
Pittsburgh and Temple have both been on a roll lately. Both won their conference tournaments and one must lose. It will likely be the Owls.
18. Drake
The winner of this game has the real test. After all, they have to play UCLA. If Connecticut can get ahead early and Hasheem Thabeet does his defensive work, they win.
17. Clemson
I can't wait to see this game. Whoever wins between Terrence Oglesby and Shan Foster will win this game. I say the senior over the freshman.
SWEET Sixteen
16. Winthrop
North Carolina will prove too much too handle for this Winthrop team. They are just stacked with too many guys.
15. Memphis
No team has entered the tournament with one loss and come out with one loss. It won't happen this year. Memphis will be the first #1 to lose.
14. UCLA
This is going to be the most entertaining big man game in the tournament. Hasheem Thabeet vs Kevin Love. I think Thabeet will shut Love down and Connecticut will advance.
13. Vanderbilt
Kansas will be able to contain Shan Foster and A.J. Ogilvy. The Jaywaks are just too good. The only chance of Vandy winning this game is Foster getting hot from the three point line.
12. Tennessee
Whoever wins this game will beat North Carolina and advance to the Final Four. If Louisville guards can handle Lofton, the game is done. For Tennessee to win, JaJuan Smith and Tyler Smith are going to have to shine, along with Wayne Chism. I think Edgar Sosa and Derrick Caracter will be able to contain Chris Lofton. Louisville is on to the Elite Eight.
11. Stanford
The way for Texas to win is simple: Guard play! Stanford is jst too good on the inside defensively with the Lopez twins. If Texas gets going from the perimeter, the game is over.
10. Purdue
Duke is too good in this one. They have the better players and the better coach. They move on.
9. Davidson
One star will move on, while the other starts training for NBA workouts. Michael Beasley or Stephen Curry, who will take it? Beasley is playing in the bigger conference on a team who finished 4th in their league and is still outscoring the mid major Curry. Beasley continues rolling.
Elite Eight
8. North Carolina
Louisville will be hard to handle for North Carolina. Ty Lawson vs Derrick Caracter is an awesome matchup. Rick Pitino goes back to the Final Four.
7. Pittsburgh
Texas is still too good on the exterior. DeJuan Blair would need a monster game for Pitt to survive. Texas will handle him.
6. Duke
I can't wait too see the sidelines during this game. Two of the greatest coaches ever. But the real matchup is Greg Paulus vs Jeff Adrien. I Think Calhoun and Adrien are victorious.
5. Kansas State
Michael Beasley won't be able to take on Kansas by himself. They are just stacked too high. Kansas will win this game.
FINAL FOUR
4. Kansas
If Louisville does not go inside to David Padgett, they are going to lose this game. If Kansas gets the ball to Brandon Rush, they will win. However, I think Caracter will distribute the ball, so we'll he will get his team into the final.
3. Connecticut
Texas is going to prove once again they are the best team in the nation with their guard play. Connor Atchley vs Hasheem Thabeet will be interesting, but the real matchup is Augustin and Damion James vs Jeff Adrien and A.J. Price. I think the Longhorns move on.
Championship Game
2. Louisville
Rick Pitino is the better coach in Texas vs Louisville;le. David Padgett is better than Connor Atchley. However, Texas has the clutch three point shooters in Damion James and A.J. Abrams. If they come through, I say Texas is the champion.
NATIONAL CHAMPION
1. Texas
D.J. Augustin and Damion James will come through for the Longhorns, who will win Rick Barnes his first national title.
