1) Kobe Bryant probably just destroyed the hearts of many.
2) You've already pissed your New Year's Resolutions away (don't worry; gyms are stupid anyway and a cesspool for disease).
3) The month of December is over and we need to figure out the MVP and ROY hierarchy for the first two months of the season.
And with that, I give you the Bloguin December NBA MVP and ROY Voting. Participating this time was Don from With-Malice, College Wolf from T'Wolves Blog, Mookie from A Stern Warning, Ezellion from Blue Blitz, Brendan from Stepien Rules, Jeff Fox from Hoops Manifesto and myself. We voted one through ten for our MVP rankings (1o points for first, 9 points for second, etc.), one through five for our Rookie of the Year rankings, threw them into the BCS computer and came out with Florida as the champion and Tim Tebow as VP of Circumcision. So we compiled all the data again, gave it to my two-year old niece (she's good with numbers and shapes) and came up with the following results.
Hope you enjoy and agree/hate us for it.
MVP

1. LeBron James, CLE - 66 points (3 Firsts, 4 Seconds)
He dances. He prances. He throws balls through hoops with such force that it impregnates your daughter. He won the MVP last year with averages of 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 48.9% from the field and 34% from three. This year, he's giving 28.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 50% shooting and 36% from three. And his team currently sits atop the Eastern Conference. It's his after two months. - Zach Harper (Talkhoops.net)
2. Kobe Bryant, LAL - 61 points (3 Firsts, 2 Seconds, 1 Third, 1 Sixth)
Focus. Effort. Application. No-one beats Kobe Bean Bryant for these. And he has LA at the very pinnacle of the NBA at the moment. - Don (With-Malice)
3. Carmelo Anthony, DEN - 45 points (1 First, 1 Second, 1 Third, 1 Fourth, 1 Fifth, 1 Sixth)
Finally seems to have put it all together - much more entertaining to watch play than LeBron. - Jeff Fox (Hoops Manifesto)
4. Dirk Nowitzki, DAL - 42 points (2 Thirds, 2 Fourths, 1 Fifth, 2 Eighths)
In the glare of the spotlight on both Kobe and LeBron, it's tough to see that Dirk's putting up MVP numbers himself, and Dallas are one of the only teams that looks like challenging the Lakers for the West. Thank Dirk for that too. - Don (With-Malice)
5. Kevin Durant, OKC - 32 points (1 Third, 1 Fourth, 2 Fifths, 1 Seventh, 1 Tenth)
He just makes everything look so... easy. - College Wolf (T'Wolves Blog)
6. Steve Nash, PHX - 28 points (1 Third, 1 Fourth, 2 Sixths, 1 Eighth)
Nash continues to put up some ridulous numbers, and he's one helluva guy... but I can't help but think that at least part of it is becaue they're running "Almost Seven Seconds or Less Equivalent" (or "A.S.S.O.L.E."). - Don (With-Malice)
7. Dwyane Wade, MIA - 25 points (1 Fifth, 4 Sevenths, 1 Eighth)
Doing everything he can to single handidly lead Miami back to playoff glory. How much longer can he play at such an elite level with no help and without his body breaking down? - College Wolf (T'Wolves Blog)
8. Dwight Howard, ORL - 22 points (3 Sixths, 1 Eighth, 2 Ninths)
Leads the league in rebounding and being big, strong, and scary. - College Wolf (T'Wolves Blog)
9. Brandon Roy, POR - 14 points (1 Third, 1 Seventh, 2 Tenths)
The most underappreciated superstar in the NBA. - Brendan (Stepien Rules)
10. Tim Duncan, SAS - 13 points (1 Fourth, 1 Eighth, 1 Ninth, 1 Tenth)
Many prefer to ignore it, but Tim Robot is still chuffing along, putting up 20-10-3 night after night and few have found a way to stop him. - Mookie (A Stern Warning)
Also Receiving Votes: Chris Paul, NOH (13 points); Joe Johnson, ATL (7 points); Zach Randolph, MEM (7 points); Deron Williams, UTA (5 points); Chris Bosh, TOR (5 points)
Two of my favorite comments on players who didn't make the Top Ten:
College Wolf from T'Wolves Blog on Zach Randolph - "The dude is a manimal! And Memphis is winning games! What more do you want from him?"
Don from With-Malice on Chris Bosh - "Bear witness: Chris Bosh's farewell tour."
Rookie of the Year

1. Tyreke Evans, SAC - 69 points (6 Firsts, 1 Second)
He should have been unanimous. He wasn't. Oh well. All he's done is average 20.3 points per game (only 20-point per game rookie), shot 46% from the field (8th amongst rookies, 4th amongst rookie guards), average 5.1 rebounds (fourth amongst rookies), 4.9 assists (2nd amongst rookies), 1.4 steals (2nd amongst rookies) and attempted/made more free throws than any other rookies. He's also led a 17-win Kings team from last year to 14 wins this year without the help of their best scorer, Kevin Martin. Are you not entertained? - Zach Harper (Talkhoops.net)
2. Brandon Jennings, MIL - 63 points (1 First, 5 Seconds, 1 Third)
The hype has died down slightly - unfortunately he can't go for 50+ every week. But there's no doubting that this Young Money will be a great guard for a long time. - Mookie (A Stern Warning)
3. Stephen Curry, GSW - 41 points (1 Third, 3 Fourths, 2 Fifths)
Imagine what he'd be like if he didn't play on a team comprised entirely of shooting guards!!! - Don (With-Malice)
4. Omri Casspi, SAC - 38 points (1 Second, 2 Thirds, 1 Fourth, 1 Fifth)
Who is this masked man averaging 12 and 4 while leading all rookies in 3PT% shooting? - College Wolf (T'Wolves Blog)
5. Jonny Flynn, MIN - 37 points (2 Thirds, 2 Fourths, 1 Fifth)
Little Jonny is starting to give the Wolves something to smile about, including his 28 points on Deron Williams. - Mookie (A Stern Warning)
Also Receiving Votes: Jonas Jerebko, DET (12 points); James Harden, OKC (8 points); Taj Gibson, CHI (7 points); Serge Ibaka, OKC (6 points)
