Lakers Receive Their Championship Rings

The Los Angeles Lakers were rewarded for their playoff performance and six-game series win against the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals last night with the opening night ring ceremony. Commissioner David Stern presented the rings to all of the Lakers champions and Adam Morrison while Ron Artest and Lakers legends of the past looked on.

For a great breakdown of the rings themselves, check out Skeets over at Ball Don't Lie.

And I agree with Skeets on The Basketball Jones (go watch it and buy a T-shirt!); just rip that sucker down. The slow reveal is boring and anti-climactic.

Don't You Mean 5 game series win?
written by Andrew Garcia, October 30, 2009
Lakers took the first 2 games at home and lost Game 3 to Orlando. Then in Game 4 Dwight Howard missed free throws which allowed Derek Fisher to take advantage with two incredible 3 pointers for the 3 - 1 series lead. The Lakers finished off the Magic in Game 5 to win the championship, while the city of L.A. was trashed by Laker fans.
